I love the Carter Family's singing

Absolutely gorgeous, flawless instrumentals in this.  A.P.Carter's voice is perfect for this song and the deep meaning. At an age where I've sadly watched family members depart "one by one" from this life, "My Old Cottage Home" touches deeply.  Yet with the sadness it brings, the song also comforts and reassures.  The original Carter Family never ceases to amaze. Songs of such depth and beauty can be listened to over and over and never wear thin.

The Carters were the masters of beautiful music. They needed no trickery or "production" to make their music so full of feeling and so moving.

Maybelle sounds great on that guitar as usual. AP 's voice adds greatly .

I donno about that..seems to me A P Carter was able to carry a tune..but it was usually Maybelle and Sara that did the singing. Too bad he died in relative obscurity. I'm just discovering this great pioneer country group..the 1st generation Carters.
