A dear friend of mine who was a Vietnam Vet(Army 25th. Infantry Division “Electric Strawberry”) passed away 3 years ago due to his alcoholism. When we had a private get together of his/our friends at his/our local bar I played this song on the jukebox. We all raised a glass in his memory while the song was playing and all of us poured a drink out on the floor for him. NOBODY sat in his favorite seat that day and there were many beers and Jack and Cokes(his favorite drinks) sitting on the bar in front of “his seat” for him. We all miss and love you Sarge!

Hearing this song brings me back to when I was kid, I interview my grandfather about his expierance as a tank engineer in the Vietnam war. The horror of war stories he told me that he saw. Gives me chills every time I hear this song.
