I walk out to the edge of the lake
Eyes following the water
As it washes my convictions away
He stops me when I’m starting to pray
He says
«Intuition is awakening suspicion.»
He says
«My tradition is the art of superstition.»
I wake up in the light of the fire
Eyes burning like the ashes
In submission to the heat of desire
He tells me not to preach to the choir
He says
«This condition is a slow decomposition.»
He says
«My religion is the practice of sedition.»

I went to have breakfast at the student center at my college this morning. Usually they're playing some rap garbage and it's near intolerable, but it's also a comfortable place to hang out and eat so I just bear with it until I'm done. Today, though, there was this cool chick named Jessica working the information area and she had this playing from her iPod over the speakers along with some classic Type O Negative. Needless to say, it was a welcome change and an awesome way to start my morning! It reminds me a lot of the gothic stuff I used to listen to back in high school and college (well, for my first degree anyway). You guys got a new fan! EDIT: two, as my mom walked by and told me to turn it up. :-D

Why this band isn't absolutely enormous, I have no idea. but In a way I'm sort of glad they're not, because they're the greatest musical discovery I've ever made.
In Toronto, some of the band came through the front door and had to move through the crowd to get to the back. I said "Goodluck" we they passed by and Rainbow turned around and fist bumped me and said "Thanks, enjoy the show." Made the event 10000x better :D It's the little things. My favourite live show to date. Great song, great band :)
I stumbled on this band about 2-3 months ago...I like it. I'm in my late 40's...It grows on you. I don't even know when these guys came out...I'm a classic metal fan, but I like the sound of this band.
So glad these guys haven't lost their original sound. Just overall better composition / sound production and Chibi's singing has come a long way since the old stuff. Still love that too, though!
one of the things i love about this band is that, there are some musicians you love for their sound in general, but there are some musicians whose music has such a powerful sound, and it literally gives off an actual energy you can feed off of when you listen to it, The Birthday Massacre has that power, they have that ability. it's incredible! i could drift into sleep listening to this song. imagine what those guys in that room must've felt while playing the song, must've been surreal
