that s why god made the radio
That s why god made the radio, find a song to take us there Beach, that s why god made the radio
spreading the love and sunshine
the soundtrack of falling in love
feel the music in the air
That s why god made the radio, that s why god made the radio
That s why god made, that s why god made the radio
Fallin in love, that s why god made
That s why god made the radio, that s why god made the radio, so tune right in everywhere you go he waved his hand
Fallin in love, that s why god made
that s why god made
That s why god made the radio, it s paradise when i lift up my antenna, that s why god made the radio
That s why god made the radio, to a whole new generation
so tune right in everywhere you go he waved his hand
Push button heaven, push button heaven, making this night a celebration
That s why god made the radio, so tune right in everywhere you go he waved his hand
Spreading the love and sunshine, whole new generation
Tuning in the latest star, that s why god made the radio
That s why god made the radio, spreading the love and sunshine
So tune right in everywhere you go he waved his hand, it s paradise when i lift up my antenna
I pulled over in my car when I first heard this. I actually started crying when I was listening for the Boys to come out with something this beautiful so late in the game was amazing!
I'm 26, and this song turned me on to how brilliant a writer and arranger Brian Wilson was and is, and how good the Beach Boys were and are. My dad showed it to me a couple of years ago when it came out, and the joy on his face at the thought that Brian can still do it and that I, his son, appreciate it so much was really something. It was like I could see his whole younger self wrapped up in this music; he turned 21 in '64, so this music means a hell of a lot to him and a lot of other people too.
Any other folks out there who are my age or so, take some time and listen to this whole album, and if you like it then go back and listen to some older stuff. It will repay your study, and it is as good a glimpse into the young life of your parents/grandparents as you will get from any book or photo, IMO. And besides all that, it's just beautifully done music: well composed, well arranged, and always perfectly sung. Brian is an under appreciated genius, and we're so lucky to have this music. It could just as easily not have happened.
These dudes are hella old. I looked up the them cause I've always loved their most well known singles. Then I realized that they still make music. Damn this song is absolute bliss. Its so dreamy, smooth and youthful.
Gosh, the "new" Beach Boys record is already 5 years old... I remember being blown away by the chord progression and melodies in this song in 2012... Time flies. The first and last three tracks are priceless on this album, by the way, absolute classics.
