Let big joe williams blues you, mad color watchers try to teach you, he thinks it s easy to fly
C mon in here s the door, is nothing but an animated puppet show, and waste his time in the sky
And waste his time in the sky, and if you must just take your secrets underground
And waste his time in the sky, when you find folks are givin you the run-around Terry, he s a little bit freer than i ordinary joe
keep on tryin to get near it a little rhythm for your spirit
Or turn you on, all your tears can t conceal it Joe, but that s what it s for
In the light of the sun you can see how they run, he thinks it s easy to fly, in the light of the sun you can see how they run
maybe you can help to make it clear to me when you re fast asleep
maybe you can help to make it clear to me when you re fast asleep
but that s what it s for
Let big joe williams blues you, i ve seen a sparrow get high Callier, i ve seen a sparrow get high
He thinks it s easy to fly, he thinks it s easy to fly
i ve seen a sparrow get high
Keep your game up-tight, for my openin line Terry, don t let name and form abuse you
and waste his time in the sky
Politicians try to speech you, although they say you re just a lazy so and so what they think is real Terry, i ve seen a sparrow get high
He s a little bit freer than i, i might try to indicate my state of mind, what is it that s lightin up the dreams you see
although they say you re just a lazy so and so what they think is real
but that s what it s for
All your prayers may not reveal it you got soul so you can feel it and when you make the scene, and waste his time in the sky, keep on tryin to get near it a little rhythm for your spirit
I discovered this after Nujabes. Too bad they two have passed away... RIP my friends. Your music will be always with all of us!
"If you're lost in the stack,
that's ok, c'mon back!"
I was in a supermarket in a remote town in Japan last month just picking up shopping. I stopped in my tracks when this started playing over the shop's music system.
'Terry Callier in a parochial supermarket in Japan - wow'! I thought...
The great man will be missed by more than he would ever have realised. He deserved (although probably didn't want) so much more recognition than he received while he was alive.
RIP!!
I got into nujabes from Samurai Champloo, and then Terry Callier from Hyde Out Productions, and I now have amazing taste in music.
No one can dispute Terry Callier's talent.
Saw him live at the Jazz Cafe in Camden. The crowds' love and affection for him was unreal. The mind boggles why he wasn't more famous in his home country. RIP good Sir.
