Great hymn, by the prolific hymn writer Pastor Charles Albert Tindley. He liked to write about storms. So much of the African American experience was stormy in his day (1905) and still is. Certainly comforting to know that God stood by us then and stands by us now. Another favorite that he wrote is “The Storm Is Passing Over.”
all creation has a way of lifting up their voices in praise but the human has a choice and if we as intelligent beings use that intelligence HE will stand by us in a way that is beyond what we can understand.
