I first heard this song in the late 1950s with Mitch Miller and his band. Such a charming song no matter who sings it.

" And there's a queen waiting there. A queen, I tell ya...." Always cracks me up! Here's to the good old days!

I'll bet he wanted to be a singer,  but found out he didn't have a pleasant singing voice so he tried talking. What a story.  Only in America.

Wonderful- sentimental, corny by today's standards (what are they?) but touching and heart felt. No cone could jerk a tear like Ted. Love it. I have an 8X10 of Ted, with the top hat, inscribed to my Dad, Lawrence, who was a great fan. Miss you Dad- think of you every day. Thanks for giving me your love of all the great bands. Thanks for everything. Love, Bill. Thanks for posting this. Nicely done.

This was always my grandmothers favorite song, she would always play it on her piano for me and my brother. When she passed I got her piano and I recently found her music and have been trying to learn this song for her
