"I want you to leave me here, and don't come back until you've won"
"But what if it takes us too long; and you're not there anymore?"
"Then... At least you protected them while I had a chance to finally rest."
One evening an old man told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Man simply replied, "The one you feed."
"A hero can be anyone, even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat on a young boy's shoulders to let him know that the world hadn't ended."
Death is the enemy, the first enemy and the last.
The enemy always wins,
And we still need to fight him.
That’s all I know.
You and I won’t find much joy while we are here.
But we can keep others alive.
We can defend those that can’t defend themselves.
Maybe we don’t need to understand more than that.
Maybe that’s enough.
“What about you, Arthur?”
“Ahh, I don’t care about all that nonsense.”
“Come on...”
“Face me to the west so I can watch the settin’ sun, and remember all the fine times we had that way..”
