I can't believe I never knew about this record. "Swings the Most" is with the same rhythm section but this is one record I never heard. Stitt had so much and always more in reserve in case anyone challenged him or brought out his competitive spirit. He was THE master to switch between alto and tenor, although many others play both well, nobody did that like him. Spectacular playing again by Stitt!

Kicked off like Blues in the Closet but we must remember that The Blue Devils of Oklahoma fame gave us Pres, The Basie, Prof Buster Smith, Lips Page, Bird and a host of others. Very cool upload Princess.

Blue Devils were an Oklahoma (Not OKA) Band that included Prof, Buster Smith Alto Sax, Walter Page, String Bass, and a bunch of the Cats that eventually morphed into Basie's Various Bands from KC Days forward to the 80's when the Kid from Redbank Checked out and The Frank's took over the Leadership!
