It's fascinating reading these comments presumeably of millenials who have all been raised in a politically correct environment, simply INCAPABLE of understanding tongue in cheek humor and exploration of different ideas through art. You NEED to have it handed to you without subtlety. Very sad but you are the product of a truly totalitarian left-liberal school system.
This song is a Ray Charles Cover, and is based on a Gospel melody "There's a Man goin' 'round taking names..." Sam Cooke did it as "Ain't that good news." It's sexism is the product of it's time ( and unfortunately if you did want to become a Raylette, you had to "Let Ray" he unfortunately had those issues, though he did leave all of his children, both legitimate and Illegitimate, a Million bucks each).
Another under rated blues master. Seen him several times atthe NO jazz fest, even at that time I was so uneducated and set in my ways I didn't appreciate it as much as I would today. Now he's gone, RIP Snooks wish you were still here.
Damn straight....and in case you don't get it....ain't no blues or, even rock artist for that matter, been worth a shit without the fire that come from knowing women....good bad and crazy....lord bless all them ladies.....cuz you made us men.... literally
Oh this is some good old down home blues, about a good ole woman! He is wailing and keeping it real! Reminds me of Big Boy Henry and his songs about women! He was Beaufort, NC's greatest! Miss him terribly!!
What part of the blues isn't unfair, isn't it just a snapshot of what was and what should pass. Best not forget, and now worry about what we do and write tomorrow.
