83 years has lots of regrets. Wish SW had recorded a DVD. Wish he had recorded "WALTZ ACROSS TEXAS" & some Orbison hits.Wish I had met both like I met J. Cash in Ventura. Sad to read obits of all my favorites.Slim's octave range is amazing. His "MAKING BELIEVE" tops my love songs list.
What a voice: Glad I got to be back stage one night at the Opry when Slim and his son was there, I charming guy and also his son and what a special voice.
My all time favorites for only love songs. Jim Reeves, Slim Whitman, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Hank Locklin. It was a wonderful time when their music began. Now harsh rock has infected country. One octave screamers cover no talent.
Beautiful song, beautifully sung, beloved by my parents - both very much missed and who I look forward to meeting again one day, God Willing. Nearly brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for the memories!
I just saw 70 comments, just made that age and I love the older songs and singers (pre-70's) compared to the (mostly) rubbish they call music we get these days.
