Skeeter was always country and at times was highly underrated because she was extremely talented. The sad thing is the Davis Sisters only did one song before Betty Jack Davis died. Skeeter carried on and she was always one of the very best. RIP to the pretty young woman of country.
She sings quite nice !!!! Gifted !!!! She must have been very young by then. I love her beautiful voice and the highly attractive and soothing lyrics. May the Almighty rest her soul in Eternal Peace. Amen.
Her impact was world wide believe it or not. My parents grew up listening to her in AFRICA. I grew up on skeeter davis and I was born in the 90s...she was before loretta and before dolly she paved the way. it was so hard to be a female country singer in those days and she did it! she deserves the recognition
One of my favorite singer, one of my favorite songs in this category of music. 'I forgot more than you'll ever know' she sings many more R/B and Spirituals that are among my favorites. RIP SKeeter Davis.
Great song, but also an amazing live performance. I appreciate all these older vids of the great country ladies -- most of these sound even better than the recorded versions.
Personally, I loved her voice. I think this was one of the best songs she ever recorded. there is emotion, brilliance, and a sense that she must have lived the song. It's magic.
