I must play this piece by Sidney several times a month and never tire of listening. Notice that the double base is "bowed". Sidney also did a somewhat more wistful version prior to this one which was privately recorded by his friend John Reid and available on CD and MP3. Thanks for a great posting. The fellow to my right is Daniel Bechet Sidney's Son,by the way.

Ken burns national parks Americas best idea, Indian summer is one of my fav songs by Glenn Miller but when episode 5 ended I head Sidney’s classic sax so I knew what song and who it was by only seconds in, that is the power of music
