I agree jbbnbb. Whilst I spent my childhood, and youth, in the South West of England, the regularly aired segments of Reginald Dixon on BBC Radio programmes was a huge binding power over the whole nation. In those days past, it was the man who created spirit of full life, not the system. When we heard the first chordes of " I do like to be beside the seaside" it was enough to throw off all the burdens of the world, whatever they might be, and to be released . I think he was a Christian .
My beloved Dad, who had a barbers shop in Hillsborough, regularly cut Reginald Dixons hair, I adore the Tower Ballroom, lots of great memories, the last 56 years.
