There s something moving in the sidewalk steam, it s the same old ending it s time to go get out, yet the broadway street scene finds a focus in its face
And the sawdust king spits out his scorn, the all-night watchmen have had their fun, exits into daylight
Sleeping cheaply on the midnight show, movie-palaces now undone
suzanne tired
there s something moving in the sidewalk steam
Though man-made light, night-time s flyers feel their pains, something inside me has just begun
Thinks money honey be on neon, early morning manhattan
Exits into daylight, and the lamb lies down on broadway
to the coat of white
wipes his gun he s forgotten what he did
Movie-palaces now undone, and the lamb lies down on broadway, metal motion comes in bursts
and the lamb lies down on broadway
rael imperial aerosol kid
Rael imperial aerosol kid, as the neons dim Peter, ocean wings blowing on the land
movie-palaces now undone
Suzanne tired, don t look at me, something inside me has just begun
And out of the subway, they say the lights are always bright on broadway
The trucker s eyes read overload, somehow it s lying there
the all-night watchmen have had their fun
there s something moving in the sidewalk steam
to the coat of white
Wow... this is great! Thank you for sharing this.. Too fast? Too punk-ish? Too rockin'? Hahah.. it's Peter Gabriel! he doesn't give a shit to what you are thinking!
Genesis lost an awful lot when Peter left the band in 1975. What a singer, a comedian, an actor, a minstrel, a troubadour, a clown and one of the most fabulous voices of prog rock ever...
LOL! All these comments crack me up. This was their encore. They were pumped and full of energy after a badass show. Want it to sound like the studio version? listen to the record!
This is Peter doing a punk performance and it's perfect because in the story of The Lamb, Rael is a punk! Everything was played faster to make it punky.
