I feel you, relate to you, accuse you
Wash away us all, take us with the floods
Then throughout the night, they were raped and executed
Cold hearted world
Your language unheard of, the vast sound of tuning out
The rash of negativity is seen one sidedly, burn away the day
The nervous, the drifting, the heaving
Wash away us all, take us with the floods
Then throughout the day mankind played with grenades
Cold hearted world
And at night they might bait the pentagram
Extinguishing the sun
Wash away man, take him with the floods
I remember my first time listening to this song back in 2007, it was a sunny summer day and I was about 7 years old, I was with my father at his friend's farm for some reason I don't remember, after we finished we headed back to our town which was about 10 km away, when we got inside the car my dad asked me if I want to listen to something "different" (since he listens to jazz whenever the family was around) and I agreed, he then played this song (which was on a cassette), he kept it on repeat the entire time driving, it was special.. Not just the song, but how my dad wanted to connect with me by making me listen to something he loved, we live in a kinda rough semi arid climate, and this song matched very perfectly with the environment on our way back home, everytime we drive on that road I remember this song, specially its intro, it made a metal addict out of me, keep on rocking during quarantine guys! \m/
Fun Fact: Dime composed the legendary outro solo of this song way back in the 80's – before Phil Anselmo joined the band – and recorded a 90-minute long loop of it as a lullaby for his girlfriend. Just figured I'd share that for those who didn't know.
