And here I was thinking it was an original Colin James song. Glad I found the original.

In fairness to CJ he did the song in 1990, which musically was still basically the 80s. Hence that shitty, second-rate synthetic kind of tone it has, but on the flip side, how many dudes would cover an old Otis Rush tune and release it as a mainstream single?? Mad props. And his Little Big Band albums are a fun and very authentic take on old swing/big band music. If nothing else the guy's got pretty damn good taste in music.

Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac also used this song for the second part of Black Magic Woman

Otis rush's Cobra Recordings are absolutely amazing. When I first listen to him on Chess, he was past his musical prime. I didn't understand why he was called the king of the electric guitar blues until I listened to these recordings- I remember buying them 16 years ago and them blowing me away... It completely changed my opinion. This was amazing and pioneering stuff

The shout he makes in this song must be the best strongest shout in the whole music history, I think. It comes from the deepest part of the soul like hell !

I wish there was a recording of the Mark DuFresne Band's take on this tune.  :-(
