French militairy second imperial marching pace of 70 steps per minute.
Will give everybody blisters and totally exhausts the soldiers within two hours.
Great for parades, but not for moving armies.
Especially not in hot wheather.
The Foreign Legion found that out quick enough and cuttted the tempo of the pace in half; 35 steps per minute.
The Prussians/Germans had a pace of 50 steps per minute and this was one of the reasons why the French lost the war of 1870-1871 and nearly in the summer of 1914.
