First heard this piece in the 9th grade by back then a fab music teacher Mr Mcnair who taught us and trained our ear for every instrument in this piece which I passed this on to my daughter who taught herself to read music and self taught on 7 different instruments, this piece is just wonderful
Man, imagine hearing this album when it came out in the 70's. You could play it loud and everyone would groove with you. No one would shake their head in shame and feel sorry for you because of your tone deafness.:-)

There's also a great version by Louis Armstrong w/Leon Thomas on "Louis Armstrong and Friends" (Flying Dutchman). I think it was his last album, released in 1970, the year before he died.
Absolutely a masterpiece.I first heard this when it came out in "76.My older brother bought the lp and have loved this song and Bubbles ever since.I never burned out on it.I even prefer it to Pharoah Sanders original.
