Lou Reed wrote this son when he was still with The Velvet Underground.
The song is about his guitar. Made out of wood. Plus, before a "solo" or what you would call a solo in their genre, Reed was known to say "Here she comes now" before jamming on that song. Just a thing he did.

Nirvana always amazes me! Just listen to all of their music (original and covers) and you'll never need "Montage of Heck." Kurt always put it all out there. We know who he was. Creative, original, and vulnerable. Perfectly human.
