It's kind of funny: when I feel happier I'm drawn to slow, heavy, depressing music (be it Doom Metal or those dark classical songs), but also when I'm truly sad or in psychological pain or some kind of melancholy or sorrow these songs heal me, unburden me.
This is so hauntingly beautiful. Sometimes there is no comfort in this life. This intense feeling of dispair makes the violin strings sound even more sorrowrul. Sweet misery indeed you are my true friend......I am doomed forevermore.
It's the perfect music to fall asleep to when you are having trouble sleeping. It's also so comforting on a cold rainy day or any day. I adore this music
Arguably the best underground metal band in the world. I'm a lifelong MDB fan, I have the scarecrow logo tattoo on my neck. To those who say this band is emo can go die slowly on a bonfire. The grandmasters of Doom metal MDB. This album was great because it marked the long awaite return of the violin which was always one of the most best aspects of the band's sound.

Doom metal is the most emotional music in my opinion. There is a better connection between the lyrics and your feelings, while you're hearing this, than in other musical styles. I understand everyone, who doesn't like doom metal, because it's too depressive for him, but I love it! You have to understands this feelings or at least like the atmosphere of this songs to like it.
But I personaly like Swallow the sun even a little bit more than My Dying Bride ;)
