I swear. Bands like Missing Persons and Devo are from the future. They must have traveled back in time after they realized the music from their time lost its soul. Or to warn us.
I was 16 when this came out, and I remember watching it when my step dad was in the room, and he said, incredulously, "you like that stuff? Just wait until you get older, you will see how ridiculous this is" I am 53, and you know what? It still kicks ass!"
I remember the first time I saw Dale in her plastic dress.
She totally changed my life.
It's a wonder sometimes how any of us alive in the 80's actually survived the 80's.
My cousin took me to a Missing Persons concert when I was like in 5th grade, he was in high school. I don't think he was ready for what she was wearing, and I didnt either. It was clear, I believe it was just tape. When she turned you could see everything, by the end of the concert her nipples were exposed. I remember my cousin in his 68 camero al the way home..."don't tell anyone what you saw" over and over, he was scared. I knew the deal, I didnt say anything. I told him he had to take me to more concerts if he didnt want me to tell. He punched me really hard and told me not to tell, that was the end of my career in blackmailing him.
