Please how the hell is this generic? This score has a sense of small scale adventure to it, which fits Spidey perfectly. He was never a big scale hero. And it has a sense of motion and feels dynamic, compared to most of the MCU's previous themes. And the beginning notes of the main sound familiar but evolve into something unexpected. Fits Spidey perfectly
With all the hate. After hearing this song in the actual movie. It's just amazing. Like this song playing during the rubble scene, brought me right back to the tobey movies. This is a such a great theme.
God you people are impossible to please. One good song on a soundtrack and you rush to call it generic and compare it to everything else. Take a break from hating everything for atleast one night, please?

Everyone keeps forgetting this is a coming of age score. Not something amazing right away, it's supposed to continually improve throughout... Michael said this himself. I personally love the score. I can hear a bit of generic parts, but that doesn't mean it's bad lol
The first two minutes of the theme are absolutely fantastic. I found it boring at first but then when I listened to it a few times it grew on me. It depicts Peter's struggle with being a high school kid on one and a hero on the other hand in a very brilliant and genius way.
And to the haters. I just wanna say, its a suite. A mix of bits from different themes. It isn't the main score and will probably play during the opening/closing credits of the movie. So stop whining about it.
You salty guys, there are TONS of references to the 60's style music theme and the strings use of Elfman. Also a few references to Horner and Zimmer. It's a Suite and 6 minutes are enough to give some credits to the other composers and the origins of Spider-man while Giacchino uses his own style.
It's AMAZING.
Wait, why the hate? I mean, the suite is a bit generic, sure, but the tune from 1:23 to 1:44 is stuck in my head now. The only other theme from the MCU which has done that is the Avengers'.
