i can t erase this
throw it again once for my girlfriend
And all of the far out faces, you find me behind the door
and if it s mine throw it away
Don t let them stop between my ears, though they are wrong, and all of the far out faces
so many voices
So many people, i can t erase this, but they said it s all right
but it appears that there they are
The seasons and the reasons are on display, i can t erase this
From long ago, they just seem to clutter up my mind Mind, to live here you ve got to give more than you get
but it appears that there they are
I can t erase this, but it appears that there they are Together, but they said it s all right
Ten thousand strong, i feel like i have been through hell
Then maybe i would know who i was, the seasons and the reasons are on display
i feel like i have been through hell
So many people, when i was when it was yesterday Together, the seasons and the reasons are on display
From long ago, but they said it s all right
To live here you ve got to give more than you get, then maybe i would know who i was, so many voices
then maybe i would know who i was
Don t let them stop between my ears, the seasons and the reasons are on display, but you tell me i haven t even started yet
From long ago, i feel like i have been through hell
though they are wrong
so many people
they just seem to clutter up my mind
and if it's mine throw it away
throw it again
once for my girlfriend
they don't write lyrics like that any more, let alone the Beatles reference later
Arthur Lee genius
This track and Laughing Stock were both on an Elektra sampler "Begin here" which were the first Love tracks I heard. A good introduction especially played loud!
Absolutely wonderful all I can say is this particular track sounds great listening to it in stereo. I have a greatest hits CD ON Love and this track is on there. This really is a great group & all their songs are amazing.
There's a funny moment in the outtakes for this song: Arthur Lee tells each band mate that "this is your take" to which Bryan Maclean sarcastically chimes in, "Arthur Lee, this is your --" but Arthur cuts him off before he can say "take".
Side note: I'm glad Arthur compliments Johnny Echols at the end because he heckled him throughout the whole session.
love were & still are light years ahead of all the so called greats of the 60s, many of them are a bore now whereas love were like punk rock too!........
This captures a lot of the magic, imagination, freedom, beauty and excitement of Arthur Lee and the Forever Changes line-up at their 1967-68 peak. The outro starting at 2:40 is the last cry of Love from that line-up and their uniquely magical sound, giving one last fuck you goodbye cruel world you don't deserve our rare beautiful magic we're outta here
