Nov.15th: Happy birthday R&B-Soul Singer William Edward "Little Willie" John (1937-1968) Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Thank you and God bless. RIP. Thanks for the upload, Melchior Mion. Blessings
Little Willie became popular a few years before Jackie, who replaced Clyde McPhatter in Billy Wards Dominoes group around 1953. Little Willie had sung with the Count Basie band at the age of 14. He was 18 when he recorded Fever, and yes, i heard he and Jackie used to battle. In fact, Johnny Otis passed over both of them as they both sang his Every beat of my heart in an audition earl;y in their careers. Anyway, from what I've read, they both won various contests, they were both amazing!
LWJ was ahead of his Time,Truly along w/Sam Cooke,Jackie Wilson,James Brown, LWJ is Too!
One of The Pioneers of SOUL Music his Vocal Prowless shows that LWJ easily could sing anything!
