The lyrics to this song are actually full of a dark and tragic meaning. Let me explain them. This song is about James Hopkins Harrison's heroine addiction which years later in the 90s took his life. "Red" is for blood and the whole chorus and verses are about heroine. James was as I think more about it probably the worst loss ever suffered together with John Lennon, George Harrison, Frank Zappa, and Freddie Mercury. You see the names I put J H.H up with and I don't think it's an exaggeration as he was a genius and my favorite vocalist/writer.
Sometimes the music and singing are so captivating on their own that I sometimies catch myself not even paying attention to what the lyrics are actually saying
My favourite Lake track ( although the whole album is classic). The outro is probably one the best guitar solos I can recall ( ok some Steely Dan tracks come near)
