One of my first small romances;
You were ten feet away from me on the train, long dark hair falling around some book you were engrossed in. I thought you were so cute, and I was younger and bolder, so I scrambled to rip corner off of my schoolwork to write out how cute you were and then drop it into your book as I passed in a hurry to get off. I never planned to see you again, and walked home with the buzz of knowing I'd gone out of my way to hopefully make you happy.
To my surprise, the next day I got off the train, you got off too. "Of all of these trains, how... How did we ride the same one twice?" You said something about how you remembered my stop and the rest was luck. We exchanged numbers and I remember meeting up a few times when we could, usually just to sit and talk. It was sweet and innocent. You were a few years older than me, and I was caught up in my home life and my trauma. You got busier with school & I dropped out and disappeared, running away for a few years, which is how I lost your phone number. But before then, you'd given me a mix CD with a lot of Lacrosse on it, hoping I'd like it. This was my favourite song, and I think of you when I come back to it. I hope you're doing well, wherever you are.
