When I first heard La Mafia from Houston, TX, I was a 20 year old Marine stationed in 29 Palms, California back in 1981. My chicano friends, on base, and I were blown away! The following year while on leave in the RGV, I saw them live at la Villa Real! And a few years later when I became a DJ at KIRT La Fabulosa de Mission, TX, I interviewed Oscar the lead singer. It was cool. I love these memories! Que viva La Mafia y su music Tejana!
