So nobody loved me lady peaceful, it s gotta happen This, that s what i long to be well
Maybe this time he ll stay, all the odds are
maybe this time i ll be lucky
Like the last time and the time before, maybe this time i ll win Chenoweth, all the odds are

Maybe this time for the first time, something s bound to begin

Maybe this time i ll win, everybody loves a winner, so nobody loved me lady peaceful
they re in my favor

Love won t hurry away, not a loser anymore Chenoweth, it s gotta happen
that s what i long to be well
maybe this time for the first time
that s what i long to be well
Maybe this time he ll stay, it s gotta happen, happen sometime
Wow!! That build up!! I don't see her sing super serious often. Her singing usually contain some sort of gags here and there (or the song would be something happy and positive in nature). Even in the glee version, the setting is kinda comedic. I'm very surprised at the level of seriousness of this performance. This is just so well put together, she drove the idea of the "crazy and desperate woman" home. Amazing piece!!
Maybe this time, I'll be lucky
Maybe this time, he'll stay
Maybe this time
For the first time
Love won't hurry away
He will hold me fast
I'll be home at last
Not a loser anymore
Like the last time
And the time before
Everybody loves a winner
So nobody loved me;
'Lady Peaceful,' 'Lady Happy,'
That's what I long to be
All the odds are in my favor
Something's bound to begin
It's got to happen, happen sometime
Maybe this time I'll win
All the people going on about her face jobs, yeah, okay, she's probably gone to get her face done, and yes, she doesn't look like the sweet Glinda or Sally Brown she was years ago, but come on - that was YEARS ago. She isn't Peter Pan.
Close your eyes. Listen to that power. Hear the melody. Feel the music and emotion. Do you like what you hear?
Yes?
Open your eyes. Does her face REALLY matter?
She's 4'11". It's just amazing a person her size can fill up a stage like she does. I liked the woman in the audience at 1:55 and how the pianist, (conductor) got so swept into this as it built . Ms Chenoweth can really sell a song. She was born to do this.
