Once you've been to India, and seen nearly 5000 years of civilization, it's hard to come back to Europe and look at an 800 year old castle, which is a feat in itself, without going 'meh'. Quite simply, India is the most benign place I've ever visited, and I miss it in a way I've never missed anywhere else I've been to.
