The song was covered in 1996 by blues vocalist and harmonica player, Junior Wells, on his album Come On in This House. Tracy Chapman wrote this song for the people who asks about it in the comments, but this is a beautiful rendition of the songs! Love & feel the blues! <3

Junior Wells (at the young age of seven) stole a harmonica from the local music store. The store owner had him brought before the judge who asked him why he stole it. He said, "Your Honor, I HAD to have this harmonica". The judge asked him to play it. He did. The judge asked the shop owner how much the harmonica was, to which the shop owner replied, "Fifty cents". The judge pulled fifty cents out of his pocket, paid the shop owner, and dismissed the case.
