Song was used in the movie "Pulp Fiction".
Saw "Johnny & The Hurricanes" when I was like 7 years old. We went from Toledo ( up the Maumee River), on a boat called the "Canadiana" to BobLo Island Amusement Park, located just above the mouth of the Detroit River. It was a great, all day trip.
Fond family memories, from when I was a little kid.
I was "impressed' by the "star quality" the guys from J & T H projected ( remember, I was 7).
First brush with a live Rock & Roll performance.
Johnny and the Hurricanes recorded "Crossfire" in a vacant cinema the Carmen Theater on Schaefer Road in Dearborn, Michigan to provide echo. It became a nationwide U.S. hit, and reached No. 23 on the U.S. chart in the summer of 1959. -- Wikipedia
Saw Johnny and The Hurricanes perform in Wichita, KS in 62 or 63; They put on a good show, Johnny dressed up as a gorilla played his sax I believe it was Crossfire, but may have been Rockin Goose been over fifty years ago now. We saw them driving around town in their VW bus too, guess they were just cruisin the city.
For me, this is one of the greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll instrumentals ever. Very exciting, very well plaid on their instruments, typical handclappin’ I know this number for a long time already.
