Blowin soft against the window, for the good times
Hold your warm and tender body close to mine, there s no need to watch the bridges that we re burning
hold your warm and tender body close to mine
let s just be glad we had some time to spend together
Lay your head upon my pillow, blowin soft against the window The, there s no need to watch the bridges that we re burning
lay your head upon my pillow
For the good times, hear the whisper of the raindrops
And make believe you love me one more time, and make believe you love me one more time, blowin soft against the window
But life goes on, and make believe you love me one more time The, blowin soft against the window
and make believe you love me one more time
There s no need to watch the bridges that we re burning, hear the whisper of the raindrops
Let s just be glad we had some time to spend together, i ll get along you ll find another, lay your head upon my pillow
Don t say a word about tommorrow or forever, don t say a word about tommorrow or forever
there ll be time enough for sadness when you leave me
there ll be time enough for sadness when you leave me
Blowin soft against the window, there s no need to watch the bridges that we re burning Johnny, let s just be glad we had some time to spend together
there s no need to watch the bridges that we re burning
And this old world will keep on turning, hold your warm and tender body close to mine
And this old world will keep on turning, i ll get along you ll find another
don t look so sad
and make believe you love me one more time
Hold your warm and tender body close to mine, lay your head upon my pillow, hold your warm and tender body close to mine
I know it s over, blowin soft against the window
I know it s over, blowin soft against the window
don t say a word about tommorrow or forever
Lay your head upon my pillow, don t look so sad Cash, lay your head upon my pillow
Oh man, my head is on the pillow, I was on the edge with my tears and my miserable life, I pressed the shuffle playlist and then this song started!
I felt like someone was putting his hand on my shoulder and then hugging me warmly to cry comfortably, I feel quietly but my heart, in the end, returns to the pain and hug it.
P.s./ sorry for my bad English.
This song still reminds me of my favorite dog which I had to put to sleep... I still shed atear when I hear this song. R.I.P J.R. Cash and Spike.
For the good times indeed
Don't look so sad
I know it's over
But life goes on
And this old world will keep on turning
Let's just be glad
We had some time to spend together
There's no need to watch the bridges
That were burning
Lay your head upon my pillow
Hold your warm and tender body
Close to mine
Hear the whisper of the rain drops
Blowing soft against the window
And make believe you love me
One more time
For the good times
I'll get along
You'll find another
And I'll be here
If you should find you ever need me
Don't say a word about tomorrow
Or forever
There'll be time enough for sadness
When you leave me
Lay your head upon my pillow
Hold your warm and tender body
Close to mine
Hear the whisper of the rain drops
Blowing soft against the window
And make believe you love me
One more time
This song truly captures bittersweet heartache and surrender at its finest. It's about realizing the relationship between two people is over, but for one last time, pretending and remembering all of the memeories and love that was shared. How even though it may have been mutual or how one partner knows that the other is no longer in love with them, but has to accept the inevitable. However, there will still be that one person who will never fully let go, who will regret what was said and done, and who will think about what could have been. Perfect song for anyone who is going through a breakup, divorce or heartache in general.
I'm not a religious person at all but there is some about Johnny's music that allows me to appreciate his views on religion/life/death. Johnny's last few albums heavily focused on the end and in 2004 I lost my grandfather, who was a huge Johnny Cash fan so the two will forever be connected when I listen to Cash especially his final pieces of music especially a cover song like this, which is made even more powerful being one of the last songs he recorded before his passing. RIP Johnny.
it's an awesome rendition of a beautiful song written by Kris Kristofferson, the man who also wrote Sunday morning coming down... Johnny was Kris' hero and then became his friend- a wonderful story that life can write...
My grandad passed away today, and he knew it was coming. Watching my dad cry like he did was a punch in the gut. This song reinsures me that he is in a better place.
