I bought the 78 rpm of this song in 1957 and the gramophone was on the floor. I placed the record on the carpet and wound up the gramophone. I moved my knee and knelt on the record which promptly cracked in half so I never got to play it. Lovely song He played at the London Palladium and sang outside to the crowds after the performance. I was 15 at the time.
Brilliant he certainly helped to get rid of the Squares that hit the charts and screen before and Greatly influenced ROCK AND ROLL along with Billy Eckstine
What a treasure.....I was 13 and it was sooooo great.....Tony Bennett attributes the rise of Rock and Roll in quite some part to Johnny Ray's singing and stagecraft. What a voice this man had. Thanks for posting such a great video. It is in sync which is quite rare in my experience with music from that era.Play it again Johnny....
