One of the first recordings I heard when I was 4, almost 70 years ago. Lovely.

Like someone else, I had watched the movie Michael Collins and this song was at the end. The bell went off and I remembered it from my childhood as my mother from Ireland sang it to to us when we were young so many years ago.

No one -- and I mean NO ONE! -- has ever captured that last line so beautifully, and with such vocal perfection. Gives me chills every time I hear it. John McCormack was simply the greatest.

We had this on a 78 and a wind-up gramophone when I was a child. I've recently got hold of the music so we can play it in our band. Wonderfully nostalgic!

My Granny loved this. Her eyes looked to a place only she could see. A place I want to see. This was the early sixties.

Beautiful. I can see my granny's blue eyes, wishing us (kids) all the best. That was a long time ago. She has passed on. Her message is as strong as ever however. There are many more like me who will ensure it continues. Great to be Irish.
