Blue Champagne — purple shadows and Blue Champagne
With the echoes that still remain I keep a blue rendezvous
Bubbles rise like a fountain before my eyes
And they suddenly crystallize to form a vision of you
All the plans we started, all the songs we sang
Each little dream we knew seem to overtake me like a boomerang
Blue is the sparkle, gone is the tang;
Each old refrain keeps returning as I remain
With my memories and Blue Champagne
To toast the dream that was you
Enjoyed it when I was young and enjoy it now in my twilight years. Steve Allen was right, they've taken the beauty out of music. Thanks for you post of this song.
As usual, a nice rendition of a beautiful song via Jimmy Dorsey and Bob Eberly. Brother Ray Eberle's version with Glenn Miller, as frequently done, pushed him into tenor mode while Jimmy Dorsey nicely lowers the key to enhance the baritone voice of Bob. Both versions are very enjoyable. Thanks for the upload.
