Mom & Dad had a Jimmie Rodgers album with this on it while I was growing up. We played that to death. Love this song. Loved the whole album.

Lovely song! I don't know why people come here to gripe, vent, criticize and make jackasses of themselves when they can't enjoy the music as it is. If you want to know whether Jimmie Rodgers was married to Nancy Sinatra, look it up in Wikipedia or Google it for gosh sake. And if you don't see a hummingbird, blue bird, or praying mantis in your country garden, maybe you haven't looked close enough. Sheez gimmee a break.

My Grade three (3) teacher, Ms. Marjorie Stubbs, taught this song to her class way back then. She was from England, and was missing some of the things she left on immigrating to Canada. She claimed that when we, (her class) sang this back to her, she was mentally transported back to her family. The lyrics had mostly left my memory, and this video mentally transported me back to my class in Northern Ontario. What a trip! Thank you, Ned.
