Noone's Apex Club band in Chicago July 29,1930. Zinky Cohn has replaced Earl "Fatha" Hines on piano and Eddie Pollock has taken over as the second reedman replaced Joe Poston who had made the most famous Apex sides. The Apex Club was a late night after hours club where lots of musicians came after their own gigs. It was at 330 East 35th St at Calumet Ave. in the heart of the Chicago's black South Side neighborhood. It was next to the Sunset and Plantation Cafes.

Jazz is so damn hard on any instrument. Good sounds, but damn hard and kudos to those who can really knock it out the park.

First time I heard this, I thought they said “asshole” instead of rascal

The vocals are by Noone and Pollock who played cl, as, and bari sax.
