I cannot stop crying since I heard the news this evening. The first notes that came to my mind were these by the divine Jessye, a capella with the Ambrosian Singers. Divine, eternal, for now she belongs to the ages. Yet will never be gone from us because she will never, ever, be forgotten!

What a loss to the world, and as my friend was quick to point out, what a legacy she leaves for us to cherish. I live in Augusta, Ga. and I am surprised I have heard little about her passing. She is the second most famous singer from this city, and in my opinion, the most important artist ever born here. We will miss her dearly.

I dearly LOVE the exquisite singing voice of Ms. Norman, whose lovely voice---even now that she is gone from this earth---I can still hear through her many recordings! What a blessing!!!
