Apparently, the "wine" was cheap sweet sherry; wine "fortified" (made stronger) by the addition of pure alcohol, and made more palatable by the addition of sugar. I would guess about 15% alcohol and three to four times stronger than beer!

everything Jerry sings is great ,be it rock and roll or country my favourite rock and roll one is 'Whole Lotta Shakin' it's the best to jive to.and then my country fav and alround song is his Sun Record of 'Cold Cold Heart's I just love his piano playing in it and his voice what more can I say.
