I first heard B5's version. Then Troop's version. Then J Dilla's sampling of this version on Time: The Donut Of The Heart. Finally I've heard this version. This is the best version of the song imo.

This recording is precious. You can hear kid MJ and adult MJ at the same time. His voice changed a lot later. It got less hoarse sounding.

This was their last single on Motown and didn't even enter the Top Hundred. Berry Gordy was angry at them leaving the company who made them and didn't promote it. It's an excellent song in every way.

Not sure how this is the FIRST time I've EVER heard the Jacksons's version! Wow...all these years. Grew up listening to Troop and always thought they were trying to sound like/emulate the Jacksons...now I understand why...especially on that song. Troop SLAYED their rendition, hands down! Glad I've heard the original, to see where their cues came from. Good music Hymn
