Happy feet!
I've got those happy feet!
Give them a lowdown beat
And they begin dancing!
I've got those
Ten little tapping toes ,
And when they hear a tune
I can't control my dancing heels,
To save my soul!
Weary blues
Can't get into my shoes,
Because my shoes refuse
To ever grow weary!
I keep cheerful on an earful
Of music sweet;
'Cause I got happy Hap-Hap Happy feet!
Just putting thees lyrics for my own purpose.
This was recorded in Berlin where the band was given a much more spacious acoustic than they got in London studios. It gives a totally different feel to the band's sound.
I first heard this record 36 years ago when I first started collecting classic jazz records. I heard it before I heard the more well-known Paul Whiteman version. Even though Whiteman originated the song in "The King of Jazz," I believe the Hylton version swings. The Muppets did their take on this tune in the '70s.
