I have been playing drums for over three decades, 15 years of Jazz too. This is so refreshingly hip, yes as the others said the movie Focus landed me on this stuff. This has soul, flavor and that hip step, studder step, slide back rhythm that has it's own pulse. Completely impressed, hats off gentleman, hats, off.

Watched these guys over the years- I can remember when they used to play in Jackson Square. People thinking the beat is stolen from G Clinton, This is Second line music. They been playing drums like this in New Orleans Mardi Gras and Street Bands for ages. These guys have been a band since they were all in High School together. yes, they started out playing for tips. These Brass bands make a lot of money in Europe. They don't have anything like this over there. I have always thought that Hip Hip and a lot of early rap got some influence from second line bands and second line dancing. .
