Direct to the old Navajo by the fire
Wish we were burn your design
Suede and hawk feather entwine me to the time
Arizona in June light
A bell that rings in the chest of story told
Meet you in this future bold
Sage at key point lead me to his funeral
A man lost young and old
Regret less the knot yes I give you the end to hold
Through darkness and earth wet I seek through the land to mould
A woman that rests night and day, sweat and tears unfold
To undress the burden that caress the blessed I’m told
Regret less the knot yes I give you the end to hold
Through darkness and earth wet I seek through the land to mould
A woman that rests night and day, sweat and tears unfold
To undress the burden that caress the blessed I’m told
[Verse]

[Outro] x2
Regret less the knot yes I give you the end to hold
And through darkness and earth wet I seek through the land to mould
A woman that rests night and day, sweat and tears unfold
To undress the burdens that caress the blessed I’m told
Finally saw them live a year ago, standing right up front. Near the drummer. Husband had to catch my ankle cause I left the planet and went wherever these gifted creatures live. Mind blowing. Absolutely transcendent.
This song is insanely difficult... it took my band I almost 10 months to learn... but this song is what got us 3rd place in the Reno Jazz Festival against high schoolers as 8th/9th/10th graders. Amazing song, simply amazing.
I used to listen to Jazz Fusion in the late 90's, Jazz Funk- eg Roy Ayers/Jamiroquai, Afrobeat- Kuti, then Nu Classic Soul- Badu, Maxwell, D'angelo...later Amy Winehouse, Warp Records....when I heard this I thought at last they had a grandchild and called it Hiatus. Thankyou
