This beautiful tune is stuck in my head, especially that bittersweet finale! Love this album, equal to Rasing Your Voice...Trying to Stop an Echo (which is their best album IMO). I love your music Hammock!
This may put the song a little more in perspective. Tristia is a collection of works from the poet Ovid, who wrote them lamenting his mysterious banishment and exile from Rome. His bewailing of his fate in the letters was ignored by his banisher, Emperor Augustus, and Ovid died in exile without ever returning.
Hammock places me in a world outside of myself . Their music makes me ask myself how I could ever be ungrateful for the every day things I take for granted . They make me see the beauty in every aspect of something insignificant . Thank you Hammock .
This album reminds me of when I swam out to the middle of my lake on a rainy day, floated up for awhile and listened to the silence that was eery beneath me as rain touched me from above.
