How's that for analog, ace? Just goes to show you how much more sound you could get when recording onto a 2" tape on an Ampeg 1956 reel-to-reel. Oh, you say you're listening to the new digital 're-master'? Not me - I love the sound of the original album on Columbia. Long live analog! What about "What is there to say?"?

Only three names were listed for this 'Quartet'. Anyone know who the drummer is?

Paul Desmond had a pianoless quartet withy Don Elliot that was in this vein. Mulligan also recorded with Bob Brookmeyer valve trombone in a similar setting. Try the Jimmy Guiffre 3. I love the close harmonies of this record esp. My Funny Valentine. But do my ears deceive me or is the recording speed a little fast on this? Say about 1/2 step? Usually my synthesizer is right on. Thanx.

When I was a kid 1960; post beatnik, pre-hippie; Mulligan was a 59' Studdie, w/ bat wings and crusing w/ Jim Scully on PCH . Where are You  NOW ?
