I played a piano arrangement made out of his rendition, for my final exam, and thanks to this, I got more score playing this than any other two pieces (one a baroque piece, anothet one romantic). Glad to have picked jazz piece for the third category.

Thanks Boo. This is the tune I listened to on a 78rpm MGM disc on Nana & Grandad's radiogram in the early 1960's.

Wonderful, wonderful. My first date was a dinner date, St. Paul, MN. with Geroge Shearing appearing in a live performance. One of my many great exposures to live jazz in the 40's.and 50's.
Grew up hearing GS in my household in the early 50's and can still see the 78 record spinning...
Later as an adult and married l had the pleasure of seeing him live around 1976 live in Silver Spring Md...
Only disappointment was there was no vibe player, but still a treat to see him live after all those years.
Many may not be aware of it, but George Shearing was blind.
