If you think the music is "off" (whatever that could mean), it's because you clearly have no idea what it's saying. This is one of the all-time greatest pieces of music. As usual with Bartók, it's encoded with the very curves and mathematics of botany—of life itself: the Fibonacci sequence. But not in a mechanical way; in a natural, perfect way that always seems inevitable for those with the patience and the brain to hear it. At least you posted the very best performance (and a tremendous recording) of this fantastic piece, which still sounds new—although it's around 80 years old.
That's very nice. I've been listening to Bartok trying to decide what I think of him, and this is the first piece I particularly care for, and I think maybe I will like Bartok.
