I met him when I was like 6 he was my favorite singer.... he was my idol. I met him here in Yuma Arizona and he looked ate and said you look just like my grandson and called me and my mom to the back and he took a pic with me and signed a pic and he also personally gave me a pin of the star he has on Hollywood sidewalk thing. I really wish he was still alive performing. RIP Freddy Fender
One of my momma favorite songs , she's in Heaven and he's probably singing to her every day ,Spent the night going back in time , Listen to all the great , Last of the good stuff !

Remember when i was a wee lad and our neighbor, my dad and freddy would drink till 6am and i would listen to their drunk ass stories and later pick up allllll those beer cans. Missing those days
One of the most underrated singers/performers of all times, and I'm not being liberal in my comment here, he's one of the best performers of all times when it comes to giving it your all, God rest his very talented soul.
One of Freddy's last wishes was to be the first Mexican American inducted in to the Country Music Hall of Fame. I wholeheartedly believe it's a definite possibility. It would be well-deserved.
Freddy Fender's my great uncle, my mother has told me so many stories of her uncle Freddy coming over back in the day while she grew up and having dinner all together at the house. And I've always seen a lot my grandpa's face in myself so seeing his brother here is remarkable. I'm 25 now and and I was just a baby when he saw me but I'm glad I can still cherish his music at least and I'm thankful there's so many out there still cherishing his work of music too.
