Are You Alright.....by Lucinda Williams brought me here. I just took a trip back to some killer music. I was born by a young couple , out of wedlock, forced to stay together by the social stigmas that ruled the day. So for the first 20 years of my life was Hell on Wheels. But; It was the bestest of times. Peace.
Sounds like some 90s indie record especially the guitar - except this was original not hopelessly derivative and lacking in imagination like 1990s indie music. No wonder so many of us were ravers by then.
Makes me feel like crying hearing this and so many others from this era..........a time that will never be seen the like of ever again......."love" meant that pretty much always way back then. A stage in emotional development that very sadly seems to be totally absent nowadays. Heartache,"love-sickness" and the joy and euphoria of a wonderful teenage time is now unnecessary. Nonetheless, the nostalgia for me and all those very memories can still be evoked very easily in songs such as this.
I was 16 in 1964 much underated record , I had just started work as a drivers assistant and it was often played in the cafes on the jukebox were we used to stop. Happy days the 60s.
